The Tax Resolution Process
1. Initial Phone Consultation
Every case starts by you speaking with one of our Tax Resolution Specialists. The specialist will ask questions to determine the nature and severity of the problem(s). The specialist will begin to formulate a likely plan of action which will be formalized after the discovery, analysis and evaluation tier. You will be asked to make a decision whether you would like to engage our services. Should you chose to engage our services, a tier one project will be initiated
2. Engagement Process
As part of the engagement process you will receive an Engagement Letter and Powers of Attorney. The Engagement Letter will clearly spell out the scope of our services, what you can expect and what we will expect from you. On the back page of the Engagement Letter is a listing of the other flat fee services, so that you can know what to expect. The Powers of Attorney will allow us to contact the IRS on your behalf and perform the Discovery, Analysis and Evaluation (Tier One).
Tier One
Tier One is the “Discovery, Analysis & Evaluation” phase of the resolution process to determine the extent and nature of IRS collection action taken or about to be taken and formulate a plan of action based upon an analysis of your financial information. As part of Tier One you will receive a. Tax Compliance Status Report, Comprehensive Tax Analysis Report, and a Plan of Action based upon your resolution needs
Tier One fees $1000.00 (If done separately- Discovery is $500 and Financial Analysis is $600)
Financing of fees is available, if necessary
3. Discovery, Financial Analysis & Evaluation
Using your Powers Of Attorney, we will contact the IRS, on your behalf, to determine the extent of any collection actions and determine the necessary steps to reach tax compliance. We will request a hold on any collection actions currently being taken. We will also obtain any required IRS tax transcripts. Once complete, we will prepare the Tax Compliance Status Report, Comprehensive Tax Analysis Report and Plan of Action.
3a. Tax Compliance Status Report
The Tax Compliance Report will detail the actions and issues that must be addressed in order for you to be considered in tax compliance.

3b. Comprehensive Tax Analysis Report
The Comprehensive Tax Analysis Report a comprehensive tool broken down into the Resolution Dashboard, Statute Analysis, 10 Year Tax Return Summary, IRS Notices, IRS Account Summary, Red Flags (potential audit situations), Payment History and Tax Return Overview. It is a comprehensive report providing you invaluable information.

3c. Suggested Plan of Action
We will prepare a suggested Plan of Action broken down into the different phases of your plan (Compliance and Resolution). Once you have reviewed the Plan of Action and signed off on the plan, the plan will be implemented.

4. Compliance
Before any positive resolution can be made on your account, all tax returns must be filed and estimated payments made (compliance) The Tax Compliance Status Report you received previously listed all compliance items that must be addressed. Payment Plans, Modification or Settlements is not possible unless you are currently in compliance (all returns filed, estimated payments made). If you have outstanding returns, our tax preparation staff will work directly with you to get best tax outcome legally possible.
5. Resolution
Once in compliance we can move forward with the Resolution Phase of the Plan of Action. As part of Tier One, we will analyze your financial information to determine the best solution(s). Our analysis determines the best solution(s) among, Fully Pay Installment Agreement, Partial Pay Installment Agreement, Offer in Compromise, Innocent Spouse, Injured Spouse, Bankruptcy and other solutions. We will develop a Tier Two Plan of Action, discuss fees and ask for your agreement with the plan. Once all parties are in agreement, we will initiate Tier Two and the resolution phase of the Plan of Action
6. Implementation
Tier Two
Tier Two is the “Implementation” of the Resolution phase of the Plan of Action. At this point we have discussed the Plan of Action, discuss the fees and you have signed off on the strategy(s) to be implemented.
We will implement the strategy or strategies individually or in unison, depending on the needs of your plan. We will monitor the progress and provide progress reports. This phase of the tax resolution process is often the longest phase. The total time of the process will depend on the strategy or combination of strategies implemented.
7. Maintenance Program
Our firm is a strong believer in a maintenance program. We know statistically, without monitoring there is a high probability that you will again get into tax trouble. To prevent this we like our clients to continue to use our ongoing tax preparation services and monitoring services. That way we can help keep you out of trouble for life.
