Requesting a Copy of a Prior Federal Return, Can You Help?
Many people mistake our site as a chat for the IRS. We are a tax resolution firm helping people solve tax problems. While we can obtain a copy of a prior return, it would likely not be cost effective for you.
I would suggest that you contact the IRS yourself. The trick to reaching the IRS on the phone is to call them when they first open on the EAST Coast (7 AM EST, VERY IMPORTANT to call in EST at 7 AM)
You can also obtain a copy of your return transcript online, at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript on the phone at 800-908-9946 or by mail. The IRS says 10 days to receive a return transcript order online or by phone and 30 dates if ordered my mail, but that is extremely optimist with the employee shortages
Taxpayers who need an actual copy of a tax return can get one for the current tax year and as far back as six years. The IRS’ fee per copy is $50. You will need to complete and mail Form 4506 to request a copy of a tax return. You would mail the request to the appropriate IRS office listed on the form instructions. The IRS says 75 days to receive an actual copy of your tax return, but that is extremely optimist with the employee shortages
Below are some things we may be able to help you with that may be cost-effective.
Filing or amending back tax returns to get refunds or stimulus payments
Solving tax problems (Federal or State)
Obtaining an EIN or ITIN number
Filing a US or Non-resident return
